The view of Pudong Skyline from the Bund will never get boring – I Love Shanghai

It’s one of the most elegant and dynamic skylines in the world, and yet none of the towers existed before the 1990s. The spaceship looking Oriental Pearl Tower was completed in 1994 and remained the tallest building in China until 2007 (thanks to its 468m tall) antennae.

The skyline is rocketing up too. The Shanghai tower, currently sitting just below the bottle opener will be 1/3 bigger, sitting at over 600m tall. It should be completed next year which should significantly change this skyline.

It used to be but a small fishing village, apparently it is ridiculously hard to build upon and the foundations of these towers go upto 1,500m deep!

It remains a firm favourite for crowds in the sun, rain and a ridiculously popular spot for wedding photos.
